Emilia Chopin
The youngest Fryderyk Chopin sister, Emilia is born in Warsaw.
Emilia since her youngest years showed considerable artistic and literary gift. There are her poems written as a small child, or attempts at writing dramas, such as “Mistake, that is the alleged waggish lad” (pl. Omyłka, czyli mniemany filut) a rhymed comedy written in 1824 together with Fryderyk for their father’s name day, poems – gifts written on certain occasions, and her strong interest (already at the age of 10) in the didactic literature for children. In 1826 she went to health treatment in Duszniki, under the supervision of the countess Ludwika Skarbkowa. In the last year of her life she spent time on more serious work – she helped her sister Ludwika in translating and adapting to Polish reality the novel by German author Christian Gotthilf Salzmann writing for children (the work was published anonymously in 1828 with the Polish title Ludwik i Emilka). Emilia died prematurely in Warsaw, in April 10, at the age of 15 years. She was buried on the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw.  More information:

German composers
Wrocław, after the departure from Warsaw (2 November). Chopin meets leading musicians: Joseph Ignaz Schnabel, Ernst Köhler and Adolf Hesse. In the letter to his family he writes: "I have met local organist, Mr. Köhler. He promised to show the organs to me; I have also met a baron or some other devil called Nesse, or Neisse, student of Spohr, famously, as they say, playing the violin. Second local expert and musician, who traveled around all Germany, called Hesse also plays compliments to me. […] Tomorrow at 2 o’clock we departure to Dresden."
