George Sand, Ludwika and Nohant
March 1846. Paris. George Sand to Ludwika Jędrzejewiczowa, Fryderyk Chopin’s sister: "My dear good friend. I would like to tell you once more that I love you, even though Chopin has left only a short moment for me before he seals the letter and takes it to the post office. That is why I hug you in a hurry, but with all my soul. You know very well how much happiness we wish you and health to your beloved mother and children! Fryderyk is not bad, even though March this year is very cold and sad compared to February, which here was a complete prank of nature – it was so sunny and warm. Now we have rain with hail, clouds and we suffer all whims of unsure and changeable sky. However, our dear Fryc is not ill and he is working, in my opinion, too much on his lessons. On the other hand, idleness is not in line with his busting and nervous nature. Soon I will kidnap him from adoring him women – students and I will take him to Nohant, where he will be forced to eat much, sleep much and compose a little."
