About the concert of 21 II Artot and Mazurka in B-flat Op. 7 No. 1
Mikołaj Chopin writes a letter to his son: "[…] musical evening, which, judging from the newspaper excerpts sent by you, has satisfied your listeners. I congratulate you your success from all my heart, mainly due to the fact that it proves clearly that you can keep your place among artists and secondly, due to the income which surely will allow for covering several months in the countryside during summer when the number of lessons drops and when you can have a rest after your work. I will not write anything about saving money and thinking about tomorrow, maybe only this that if we could save aside more money, then we would be more comfortable, however, we are satisfied now as well. […]"
The same day Ludwika Jędrzejewiczowa also attached her letter to her brother: "We congratulate you only today and we wish you all the best for March 1 and 5; we haven’t written because we wanted to receive a letter, knowing about the concert; later we thought that you wait until you have time to inform us about it, what duly happened. Thank God for the letter, because it was very needed for good health and calm spirit of our parents. I prefer the review from "Gazette de France". "Musicale" was much poorer than the one last year. [...]"
