Bohdan Zaleski and Zofia Rosengardt
Bohdan Zaleski from Fontainebleau in a letter to Fryderyk Chopin recommends a new student, Zofia Rozengartówna: "We know each other for many years, and allegedly it is the first time I am writing to you. The very thing encourages me and assures that you will listen to me with indulgence. (…) I would like to recommend Ms Zofia Rozengartówna. Ms Zofia, whom you have already honored with your lessons last year, I think, is still worthy your attention. Indeed, it is the person who in artistic rapture set off in the wide world only to listen to you, master, and to be born again to life! Young, intelligent, with some training, and with good qualities and zeal for art, God forbids her to waste time in Paris and at the same time disappoint the expectations and hopes of her poor family." At the end he adds: "Until today, in my here lonely reverie, I often recollect certain sound, sleepy, easy, from the million of sounds you have honored us that day, our wizard! If I move to Paris, one day on Sunday morning I will assault you in the old Polish style, trusting in the old, close friendship."
