Spohr Quintet

At the name day party of the duke Józef Cichocki, Chopin participates in the performance of the wind quintet with piano Op. 52 of the Ludwik Spohr: "Lovely. However terribly not for the fingers. Everything he wanted to write especially for the piano and for the show is unbearably hard and often it is difficult to find fingers." He is at the party until 3 in the morning because "there was a beautiful lady who resembled very much my ideal."

About the consultation

Chopin to August Franchomme in Tours: "When it comes to me, I feel rather worse than better. Mr. Cruveiller, Louis and Blache decided at the consultation that I shouldn't depart in the coming days, but rather rent an apartment looking towards the south and stay in Paris. After a long search I found a very expensive apartment fulfilling all the requirements – at the Vendôme Square No. 12. [...] At this moment I can't say anything else, because I'm collapsing with sleepiness and weakness."
