Chopin participates in the concert by Ferdinand Hiller in the hall of the Conservatory in Paris. Together with Liszt and Hiller he performs the Concerto in D minor for three pianos by Johann Sebastian Bach. Two weeks later, on the 27th of December, Hector Berlioz wrote in the magazine "Le Rénovateur": "It was agonizing, I swear, to watch three incredible talents, full of energy, shining with youth and life, who gathered to perform this ridiculous and risible psalmody." (Berlioz didn’t like Bach)

Evening parties
Mikołaj Chopin in his letter to his son: "I appraise Your resolution to stay more in home than during previous years, but I do not think it is advisable to back up completely. Evening parties, if they are not prolonged too much, for You are like veritable respite, necessary to revitalize Your talent, and even to hint new ideas." And further: "I see from Your letters that Your stay in Dresden was a pleasure, as You plan to go there next year; however, it should be taken care of that this travel would not consume all laboriously collected by You fruits of Your work. Concert tournée could, I believe, cover the cost of the travel, especially that in Germany they are interested in Your compositions, so everybody will be eager to listen to You. We will come back to this project later."
