Szafarnia and the hen
Chopin writes a letter to his family in Warsaw - Kuryer Szafarski (August 16): "On the 14th of this month, the present year, a hen has become lame and the drake lost his leg in a duel with the goose. The cow has fallen ill so suddenly that now it is grazing in the garden. On the 14th a judgment was delivered that, subject to penalty of death, no piglet dared to enter the garden."
During his holiday in 1824, in Szafarnia, Chopin sends to his family various information and observations in the form of a newspaper "Kuryer Szafarski", based on "Kuryer Warszawski". Chopin signed the news with various code names such as Pichon, Jakub Chopin, Mokołajek. "Kuryer Szafarski" was published on August 16, 19, 24, 27 and 31, and on the 3rd of September 1824.

Wodzińska and my trouble
Paris. Chopin in his letter to Teresa Wodzińska in Służew: "Your last letter has reached me in London […] I thought that from London I would travel to Holland and to Germany… I came back home, it is getting late for me and probably it will get late in my room. I am waiting for a less sad letter than the last one. Maybe my next one will only be addition to Antoś’s letter." With Chopin it was unequivocal with bidding farewell to dreams about his own house. Maybe it was then when he wrote on the bundle with letters from Wodzińska "My Trouble" (pl. "Moja bieda").
Chopin proposed to Maria Wodzińska at the end of 1836 in Dresden – at "grey hour". However, the wedding did not take place due to lack of consent of Maria’s father. Letters between Fryderyk and Maria stopped in 1837. Letters by Maria and her family dated 1835 – 1837 Chopin put in a file and bound with a pink ribbon putting an inscription on them saying : "My Trouble" (pl. "Moja bieda"). More information:
