Paris, Kalkbrenner, D-flat major
Paris. Chopin writes a letter to Tytus Woyciechowski: "Paris is everything you want: you can have fun, be bored, laugh, cry, do everything you like and nobody will even look at you, because there are thousands of people doing the same thing as you, and everybody in his own way. I don’t know if there are somewhere more pianists than in Paris, I don’t know if there are somewhere in one place more dumbos and virtuosos as here."

My windmill
Paris. Chopin begins a letter to his family, which he will be writing for two weeks: "Do not believe in bad messages, because there are many people in the world who cannot see happiness in composure." And further: "I have started my windmill. Today I have delivered only one lesson, to Mrs. Rothschild and I called off two others because I had something else to do. My new Mazurkas have been published in Berlin, at Stern, so I don’t know if they will arrive at Your place. In Warsaw You have usually music from Leipzig. They are not dedicated to anybody. Now I would like to finish my Sonata with cello, Barcarole and something else, I don’t know."
