Valldemosa and throwing stones
February 11 or 12, 1839. Chopin, George Sand and her children leave Valldemossa and on February 13th, Majorca. George Sand writes a letter to Charlotte Marliani: "On Majorca we were pariahs due to Chopin’s cough, and also due to the fact that we were not attending the mass. People used to throw stones at my children. We were rumored to be heathens and God knows what else."

Flu and quilt for the winter
Paris. Fryderyk Chopin writes a letter to his family: "Dearest. I haven’t written to you for a long time, because: the more I delay writing the letter, the more things I have to write – so many, so many, that due to the amount I don’t write. That is why today I am writing only several words to you, only to inform you that I am healthy, that I have received your letter. I had grippa, like all the world here, and I am writing only a short letter due to the fact that I am busy with my concert which will take place on the 16th of this month. […] I have finally received the quilt from you, by the intermediary of I don’t know who, the quilt admired by everybody who has seen it. I would like to thank you, my dearest. It is cold there, and here the winter is over, but there was time when Seine was frozen. […] I am delivering many lessons. I am employed everywhere without doing anything."
