Szafarnia and the Jew
During his holiday in 1824, in Szafarnia, Chopin sends to his family various information and observations in the form of a newspaper "Kuryer Szafarski", based on "Kuryer Warszawski". Chopin signed the news with various code names such as Pichon, Jakub Chopin, Mokołajek. "Kuryer Szafarski" was published on August 16, 19, 24, 27 and 31, and on the 3rd of September 1824.

Ghosts in Scotland
Scotland. Chopin in a letter to Kamil Pleyel: "…I am suffocating in this beautiful Scotland – for a change. I am surrounded by a beautiful park with ancient old trees, […] the castle I live in is the ancient seat where John Knox, a Scottish reformer, delivered his first mass. Some walls are 8 feet thick; corridors full of old portraits of ancestors have no end, one ancestor is more blackened and more Scottish than the other, nothing is missing here, even the red cap is here, which makes alleged apparitions. After all this what happened on the continent, I suppose that the ghost is busy changing his caps – it would be a shame for him to be taken for one of your vile ghosts, because for some time nobody has seen it. If red cups could change a ghost just like that!"
